Fans are vamped up for 'The Twilight Saga: New Moon,' so they will enjoy hearing this recent confession vampire heartthrob Robert Pattinson made in a special issue of People magazine.
Pattinson talked about his sexy role in the wildly popular movie franchise, saying, "When I read 'Twilight,' and there are these moony descriptions of Edward as a godlike figure, I thought there was no way I could play him."
"But when I got in the room with Kristen [Stewart], there was a certain chemistry," Pattinson revealed about his costar Stewart, who plays his love interest Bella Swan. "She's basically the reason I did the movie."
'Twilight' author Catherine Hardwicke also revealed what really happened on set between Pattinson and Stewart. "When they were kissing ... Rob got a little passionate and fell off the bed!"
As director Chris Weitz points out, 'Twilight' follows the love between Bella and Edward, while 'New Moon' is about a heartbreak that spurs a possible love triangle.
"I get nervous trying to represent Team Jacob [Black] in the right way. This guy is some pretty good competition," actor Taylor Lautner told People before a scene with Pattinson. Lautner plays Jacob, a werewolf who is pining for Bella's affection.
"The fans would love anybody who played Jacob. I'm just lucky to be the one who got the chance."
Weitz said that those on Team Edward will be seeing the sexy vampire more than perhaps expected. Weitz credits flashbacks with providing "more Edward in the film. Viewers will see him more often than Bella sees him in the book."
'The Twilight Saga: New Moon' hits theaters Nov. 20, while People magazine's special 'Twilight' issue hits newsstands Friday, October 16.
